Ft. Campbell Spouses Tour Downtown Commons
On Thursday, March 22, 2018 a group of 22 spouses of Ft. Campbell soldiers toured Downtown Commons.
“The Two Rivers Company was excited to speak to the ladies about the amazing features of Downtown Commons,” stated Norman Quirion, Two Rivers Company Executive Director. “The best part of being the Executive Director of the Two Rivers Company is sharing the vision of Revitalization of the Central Business Improvement District (CBID).
Norman Quirion explained that Downtown Commons was a concept that originated with the Two Rivers Company’s Planning and Development Committee. City of Clarksville funds were used to purchase the property and the Montgomery County Government took the project from there. Downtown Commons is a Montgomery County Government property that is expected to be in April 2018.
During the tour Two Rivers Company Executive Assistant Deanna McLaughlin spoke about the spherical sculpture that will be located at Downtown Commons. The sculpture was designed by State University of New York at Cortland professor and sculptor Vaughn Randall. Clarksville Foundry is donating the casting for the sculpture.
Downtown Commons Event Manager Paula Atkins told the group about some of the events that are planned for this year, in addition to taking them on a walking tour of the park.
